Tribal Wives
19-06-2008
Last night I saw a wonderful programme on the British TV. It was the first episode of a six-part series called "Tribal Wives". Six British women each live for a period of one month with a native tribe, looking for what they feel they have lost in their often busy, hectic lives.
What touched me in this episode was to see how simply and harmoniously the people of the Kuna-indians live (the tribe featured), so warm and caring and with a lot of fun, nu hurry, a lot of sitting and talking, very close as a community and deeply spiritual. They take in the young English woman very lovingly, as if she is family. Because of the heartfelt love and care she recieves there, the woman can heal some of her wounds and she is reminded of what is really important in life. If you live in the UK you can watch the episode on the BBC website. If you live outside the UK, sadly enough it isn't possible to watch old programmes. But there are five more episodes to come! Next wednesday the second episode is at 22:00 (central european time) or 21:00 (UK time). Let's hope it's as good as the first one! bbc two what's on |
